F.A.S. F.a.s. srl was founded in 1962 by Ermanno Zappa who had the farsightedness to realize that the demand for plasticized fabrics would grow rapidly in the future. Initially the company was a small business consisting of a workshop in Pusiano, near Como. In 1973, the company expanded and moved to no. 11 Via Geretta in Ponte Lambro (Como province). Since 1986 the business has been managed by the founder's heirs. The company has grown steadily, partly as a result of the pressing demand of the market for treated materials and, above all, because of the company's continuous, tireless search for new, alternative materials that would enable the company to expand its market in capillary fashion to every part of Italy and the world. The materials produced, Nylon and Polyester in dyed and printed versions and various weights, are used to manufacture sports bags, sacks, luggage, backpacks, promotional bags, and are produced in rolls of various lengths. Depending on the demand, the company also does commission coating or resin application on fabrics supplied by the clients. It also produces PVC foam which is used in a number of sectors and, to specific requests, flame retardant fabrics. The sales network is made up of a number of well-trained agents under the direct supervision of the management. Another strong point of the company is its warehouse, which always disposes of finished goods in the colors of the sample collection. In addition, since June 2003 the company has been in possession of Certification for ISO 9001:2000 with TUV UK QA, further improving the quality of its products. All this has brought F.a.s. srl to a position of leadership on the Italian market, but above all has enabled the company to achieve constant growth in exports to the European countries.
